Paramarine camouflage uniform designed for parachute jumping. It is shown here as it was designed to be used, with suspenders attached to grommets on the waist line. This uniform was created with an array of large pockets, secured with flaps and snap closures. The pockets were provided for carrying an assortment of ammunition, hand grenades, rations, etc. With the added weight of these items carried in the pockets, metal grommet attachment points were provided for web suspenders to help support the added weight. It was believed that parachute troops would require additional personal supplies of food and ammunition since they would likely be dropped behind enemy lines and without logistical support or resupply for extended periods.
